A heat storage device includes a heat storage material in the form of a liquid that stores heat from a heat source and a heat storage tank 2 that accommodates the heat storage material therein and has a wall to form an outer shell. The wall has a heat-transfer portion 4 to transfer heat between the heat source and the heat storage tank 2. The heat storage tank 2 has an upper end located above a level of an upper end of the heat-transfer portion 4. This configuration can increase a capacity of the heat storage material and, at the same time, efficiently increase a temperature of the heat storage material that is not in contact with the heat-transfer portion 4 due to convective heat transfer.
