<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method capable of performing image retargeting that allows overlapping of objects in an image. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing method includes: an image inputting step of inputting an image; a layer structure setting step of setting a layer structure by defining a predetermined number of layers and setting the layer to which each pixel belongs; a cost map setting step of setting an amount of energy for every pixel in the image on the basis of the layer structure and generating a plurality of cost maps; a path searching step of referring to the generated cost maps and searching for a path parting the image for each cost map; a path selecting step of selecting the best path among the searched paths as a representative path; and an image resizing step of changing the size of the image along the representative path and outputting the resized image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
