<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical glass which can satisfy all the requirements such as: (1) a component which is not environmentally friendly is not contained; (2) a low glass transition point can be easily achieved; (3) high refractive index characteristics can be easily achieved; (4) it is excellent in visible light transmittance; (5) it is excellent in devitrification resistance during mold press molding; and (6) it is excellent in weatherability and chemical durability. <P>SOLUTION: The optical glass has a glass composition of containing, by mol%, 43.5 to 90% of SnO and 0.1 to 56.5% of P<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">5</SB>+B<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>+SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and not substantially containing a lead component, an arsenic component, and a fluorine component. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
