摘要 The present invention provides an apparatus for automatically measuring COD, wherein the apparatus is capable of measuring COD well even if the amount of a sample solution is small and corresponding to a request for a reduction of main turbines frequency of an environmental load, running costs, recovery of waste water, supplement of a reagent, or the like, for a reduction of a power consumption, or the like. A reactor (2) comprises a sample measurement unit (21) having an opening on the upper surface thereof; and a tube-shaped sample heating unit (22) for communicating with the bottom part of the sample measurement unit and extended downward, wherein the sample heating unit (22) has a smaller area of a horizontal section than an area of a horizontal section of the sample measurement unit (21). According to an embodiment of the present invention, the reactor (2) is configured to have a bigger capacity of the sample heating unit (22) than a volume of a sample solution during oxidation reaction and to have a smaller capacity than a volume of the sample solution after added with a secondary solution. In addition, a liquid surface of an oxidation reaction step is disposed on the sample heating unit (22), and the liquid surface of a titration step is disposed higher than a detection surface (502) of an electrode.
