PERMANENT CATHODE FOR ELECTROREFINING AND COPPER ELECTROREFINING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent cathode for electrorefining of copper which prevents invasion of an electrolytic solution between the cathode and the strip in the lower end part of an edge strip masking both side parts and suppresses electrodeposition of granular electrolytic copper.SOLUTION: A permanent cathode for electrorefining includes at least a permanent cathode body and a pair of edge strips masking both side parts of the permanent cathode body. The body part has cathode underpin insertion holes penetrating the body part in the thickness direction at one or more points in the lower parts of both side parts, and the edge strips have edge strip underpin insertion holes provided at positions for forming a through hole matching at least one of the cathode underpin insertion holes. The edge strips are attached along both side parts of the body part so as to cover both side parts of the body part. Through holes are formed by matching the underpin insertion holes, and the underpins are inserted into the through holes so as to fix the edge strips to the body part.
