<p>Abstract: Method for Checking Toll Transactions and Components therefor The invention relates to a method for checking toll trans actions, produced from position notifications of a mobile phone (20) connected via a mobile network (18) to a transaction serv er (14), with the aid of a network of distributed toll beacons 10 (7), which can communicate via short-range radio (9) with on board units (15) of passing vehicles (5) and are connected to the transaction server (14). To this end, the invention creates an interoperable multi-functional OBU (6) formed from a GNSS and NFC-enabled mobile phone (20) on the one hand and an NFC 15 and DSRC-enabled OBU (15) on the other hand, which exchange da ta concerning a session identifier (SID) via their common NFC interface (27), which session identifier forms a link between the infrasturctureless and the infrastructure-bound billing functions of the multi-functional OBU (6).
