Plant (1) for paper production, comprises a paper mill at a location with an arrangement (2) for raw material pre-treatment and a paper machine (4), and a power station (6) for generating electrical energy for the paper mill. The power station is a type of power station, in which the fuel is converted by at least substantially pure oxygen under the formation of at least substantially pure carbon dioxide. Feeding device for supplying carbon dioxide produced in the power station to carbon dioxide consuming sub-processes in the paper mill is provided. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating the paper mill, in which the raw material is processed into paper by the paper mill containing an arrangement for raw material pre-treatment and a paper machine, comprising generating the electrical energy consumed in the paper mill in the power station by burning the fuel with oxygen and using the carbon dioxide produced in the power station during the combustion of the fuel with oxygen in carbon dioxide consuming sub-processes of the paper production.
