A method and apparatus are presented for automatically fabricating arbitrary materials and objects from raw components, using a combination of simple chemical, electrical, and mechanical operations. The invention will automatically generate machine control instructions for controlling automated fabrication devices and equipment from simple instructions in natural language. The invention also allows the sharing, remote execution, scheduling, and automatic ingredient ordering for such instructions to allow the creation of new materials and professional object fabrication with little or no human intervention. |

1. An automated fabrication device method comprising the steps of:
fabricating an object performed by a computer system connected to one or more automated fabrication systems, each of the one or more automated fabrication systems comprising one or more devices, the computer system including a processor, a program, a database, a non-transient computer readable memory and a controller, the program executed by the processor of the computer system, said fabricating step further comprising the steps of: receiving by the processor a request for preparation of a recipe for an object; downloading by the processor to the non-transient computer readable memory the recipe from the database, wherein the recipe includes a plurality of ingredients required for the recipe for the object; determining automatically by the processor one or more pieces of equipment needed to manufacture the recipe for the object; generating automatically by the processor machine-specific instructions for the one or more pieces of equipment; sending by the controller to the one or more pieces of equipment the machine-specific instructions, wherein the controller sends the machine-specific instructions at particular times; providing by the controller to the one or more pieces of equipment the plurality of ingredients required for the recipe for the object; executing by the one or more pieces of equipment the machine-specific instructions; and manufacturing automatically by the one or more pieces of equipment the recipe to fabricate the object. |
