The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method and apparatus for measuring a movement of a terminal, and switching a mode of a function being performed by a terminal or performing a function corresponding to a movement of the terminal, in response to the movement of the terminal. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for switching a function in a terminal includes measuring a change in the movement of the terminal when a specific function is performed in a first mode; and operating the specific function by switching the first mode to a second mode when the change in the movement of the terminal satisfies defined movement conditions.
