<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic design system and an automatic design method that facilitate checking whether a change is properly reflected in drawing data when dimension data is changed. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic design system 10 comprises: an input part 11 for inputting at least dimension data; a database 17 for storing the dimension data; a PDM 18 for storing image data corresponding to the dimension data, in association with the dimension data; and a CPU 12. The CPU 12 detects a change in the dimension data and, when detecting the change in the dimension data, creates comparison data between the dimension data before the change and the dimension data after the change, and creates difference data between the image data corresponding to the dimension data before the change and the image data corresponding to the dimension data after the change.
