PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a false-twisted yarn, by which a reduction in yarn damages found on the upstream side of a heating device and the inhibition of yarn breakage during the false-twisting can be achieved. SOLUTION: A non-contact type heating device in which a heater is divided into two divisions in a length ratio of 1:3 to 1:1.5 from the upstream side to the downstream side and which has a total length of 0.8 to 1.3 m is used, and a yarn is drawn and false-twisted under conditions which comprises a false- twisting speed of 800 to 1200 m/min and the twist number of 1500 to 4200 twists/ m at the exit of the heating device, and satisfy the following expression: 0.01<=(L1×T)/(V×D)<=0.24. [V is a false-twisting speed (m/min); T is the temperature( deg.C) of the upstream side hater of the heating device; L1 is the length (m) of the upstream side heater; and D is a single filament fineness (decitex), after drawn and false-twisted].
