The installation has a refrigerating unit comprising a variable speed compressor (1) and an evaporator (2) through which a refrigerant circulates. A photovoltaic unit (7) is connected with the refrigerating unit for supply of electric energy to the compressor and to a light radiation sensor (8) e.g. pyranometer. A control unit (6) is equipped with a reception unit for reception of signals from the sensor. The control unit is utilized for controlling the compressor as a function of signals received from the sensor.
