Cast ceramic grains have the following overall average chemical composition, in percentages by weight on the basis of the oxides: (a) Al2O3 : 93 to 98.5; (b) MgO : 1.5 to 6.5; (c) SiO2 : less than 0.1; (d) other impurities : less than 0.4. An Independent claim is also included for the fabrication of these ceramic grains.
