<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass plate manufacturing method and a glass plate manufacturing apparatus in which an edge surface of a glass plate can be processed uniformly.SOLUTION: A glass plate manufacturing method includes a grinding process and a position adjustment process. The grinding process grinds an edge surface 3a of a glass plate 3 by moving a grinding wheel 21 and the glass plate 3 relatively along the longitudinal direction of the edge surface 3a while contacting a grinding wheel 21 which is arranged as facing to the edge surface 3a to the edge surface 3a. A position adjustment process adjusts the position relationship in a first direction between the grinding wheel 21 and the edge surface 3a by edge part positioning rollers 22a, 22b. The edge part positioning rollers 22a, 22b are configured so that the edge part which is the edge part of the glass plate 3 and includes the edge surface 3a ground at the grinding wheel 21 is positioned along the first direction. The first direction is a direction orthogonal to the main surface 3b, 3c of the glass plate 3.</p> |
