PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor assembly which is simple, reliable and cost effective and can realize high performance, and a method for fabricating the same.SOLUTION: Rotor bars are inserted into slots of laminated discs 101. A pair of end caps 601A, 601B are positioned at either end of the stack of laminated discs 101, and fusion-welded to the rotor bars using an electron beam welder, thereby yielding improved electrical and mechanical characteristics in a low weight assembly.
