PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film which has highly excellent cost performance and handling performance, has high uniformity of optical characteristics in a film plane, and can be suitably used as a member of a thin polarizing plate.SOLUTION: A polyester film is biaxially oriented. A deflection of an orientation angle (&thetas;3) in a direction perpendicular to an MD direction of the film is 3 degrees/m or less. A birefringence (&Dgr;n) of the film is 0.03 or less. |
