PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support system configured to support a trainee driver so as to ensure security between a trainee vehicle driven by the trainee driver and general vehicles traveling around the trainee vehicle. SOLUTION: The driving support device transmits/receives trainee vehicle identification information, trainee vehicle information, and warning information through inter-vehicle communication between the trainee vehicle driven by a trainee driver and a general vehicle traveling around the trainee vehicle, determines the possibility that the trainee vehicle approaches the general vehicle on a road or travel routes thereof cross each other, controls the distance between the trainee vehicle and the general vehicle, issues a warning or an announcement on the driving support for the general vehicle, notifies a driver of the general vehicle about the trainee vehicle, and performs driving support for ensuring security between the trainee vehicle and the general vehicle.
