The present invention relates to a device for producing a synchronous signal for partial discharge detection and a method thereof. The device detects a signal of a frequency component corresponding to a commercial frequency of power supplied to an electronic device from a signal generated from inside or outside the electronic device according to a motion of the electronic device. The device produces a signal having a property which is synchronized to the commercial frequency by correcting a wave of the detected signal and is converted. The device outputs a signal which is produced according to a successive congruence degree between a cycle calculated by the operation of the signal and a cycle of the commercial frequency as the synchronous signal for the partial discharge detection of the electronic device.
