PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinyl chloride film which has a high heat shielding function, while retaining excellent mechanical characteristics and visible light transmissivity, and reduced environmental load and a heat ray shielding laminated transparent substrate using the vinyl chloride film.SOLUTION: A method of producing a composition for production of a heat ray shielding vinyl chloride film which is used in production of a heat ray shielding vinyl chloride film includes a step of dispersing a fine particle of a composite tungsten oxide of formula WOhaving a hexagonal crystalline structure and a basic urethane-based dispersant in an organic solvent to obtain dispersion, a step of mixing the dispersion with dioctyl terephthalate to obtain a mixture and a step of removing the organic solvent from the mixture down to a concentration of 5 mass% or lower to obtain a composition for production of a heat ray shielding vinyl chloride film.
