<p>An energy storage device using a battery pack according to the present invention comprises a battery pack module formed as a plurality of battery cells is laminated; a cell selection switch module connected to the individual battery cells of the battery pack module; a battery unit including a battery control unit connected to the cell selection switch module; a charging module unit charging the battery unit; a discharge control unit adjusting power which is output from the battery unit; an output port unit transmitting power from the discharge adjusting unit to an external device; a load determining unit determining a load applied to the output port unit; and a control unit connected to the battery unit, the discharge adjusting unit, and the load determining unit. The output port unit includes a plurality of output ports, and when it is determined by the load determining unit that power exceeding a preset reference range is supplied to the output ports, power is not supplied to the output ports. According to the present invention, power supplied to output ports installed in the energy storage device is sensed, and when power exceeding previously designated reference range is supplied to the output ports, power supply through the output ports may be interrupted. Also, various devices and peripheral devices connected to the output ports of the energy storage device can be protected from excessive power, and a fire can be prevented in advance.</p> |
