Disclosed is an isolated nucleic acid encoding a Brassica acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) I protein comprising a tryptophan to leucine substitution at a position corresponding to position 574 of SEQ ID NO: 1. Further disclosed are peptides, expression vectors, plants, seeds comprising said W574L substitution in the Brassica napus Acetolactate synthase 1. Further disclosed are methods of increasing herbicide resistance of a Brassica plant, by using said nucleotide, peptide or expression vector thereof. |
