<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetoresistive effect element with higher sensitivity and lower noise, a magnetic head, a magnetic head assembly, and a magnetic recording and reproducing device.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, there is provided a magnetoresistive effect element comprising: a first shield; a second shield; a laminate; and a hard bias part. The laminate includes a first magnetic layer arranged between the first and second shields, a second magnetic layer arranged between the first magnetic layer and the second shield, and an intermediate layer arranged between the first and second magnetic layers. The hard bias part is arranged along the laminate between the first and second shields. A crystal orientation plane of the first magnetic layer in a direction perpendicular to the film surface is a cubic crystal (110) plane. The first magnetic layer includes a laminate containing an Fe layer and a Co layer which are laminated; and a Heusler alloy layer laminated on the laminate. Thicknesses of the Fe layer and the Co layer are not smaller than 0.3 nm and not larger than 0.6 nm.</p> |
