<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backrest that has a soft touch to the body of a man and that excels in fitness and a cushioning property. <P>SOLUTION: A large number of longitudinal projected lines 49 are formed at least on the front face of a backrest board 16, with a part of a waist rest portion 16a installed in a manner that both left and right ends are supported at both ends on a back frame 18. The backrest board 16 is made of a resin material having a rubber property and, in a state unmounted on the back frame, the backrest board 16 has such elasticity (flexibility) that a man can easily bend it by holding it by hand.
