PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing scale capable of suppressing the generation of calcium fluoride scale without increasing the concentration of phosphorus in a fluorine-containing water system.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for preventing scale where a phosphorus-free copolymer of maleic acid, ethyl acrylate, and vinyl acetate is added to a fluorine-containing water system. As the phosphorus-free copolymer, the one obtained by copolymerizing monomer components including maleic acid of 60 mol%, ethyl acrylate, and vinyl acetate is preferable, and the one having the weight average molecular weight of 500 to 5,000 is preferable. |
