摘要 The present invention relates to a system for controlling peripherals of a direct methanol fuel cell and a method thereof wherein the performance of a direct methanol fuel cell is improved by factoring in the load condition and the concentration of diluted fuel to control the supply of fuel. The system comprises: a fuel cell stack generating power using diluted fuel and oxygen in air containing water and methanol; electronic peripherals sensing and outputting current and voltage of the fuel cell stack; mechanical peripherals controlling the amount and concentration of the diluted fuel and oxygen from the fuel cell stack by controlling a water pump, an undiluted solution pump, a methanol sensor pump and a blower; and a control unit classifying the amount of the load of the fuel cell stack into a plurality of phases, controlling the supply of the diluted fuel and air for the mechanical peripherals to have constant stoichiometric ratio depending on each phase and supplying the diluted fuel and air to the fuel cell stack.
