A water dispenser that conveys, by means of gravity, drinking water inside a source water container through a falling water path to a temporary tank, wherein negative pressure inside the source water container and falling water pressure are prevented from balancing. The inside of a piercing rod (21) that pierces a plug (14) of the source water container (10) is partitioned into a water channel (22) and an air channel (23) that lead inside the source water container (10). The air channel (23) is configured so as to lead into the temporary tank (30) by a separate line from the water channel (22) from a starting opening (25) that is smaller than a starting opening (24) of the water channel (22), and the air channel (23) is opened and closed by a float valve (40). A valve body (44) of the float valve (40), and a float (43) that floats on the water surface of the temporary tank (30) are linked. Negative pressure is generated inside the source water container (10) by overshoot, and when the valve body (44) is about to be raised by air inside a valve case pipe section (42), the weight of the float (43) forces the valve body (44) to move with a change in the water level inside the temporary tank (30). |
