PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device with improved visibility.SOLUTION: An image display device includes: (1) a white light source having a continuous emission spectrum; (2) an image display cell; (3) a polarizer placed closer to a viewing side than the image display cell; and (4) at least two sheets of oriented films placed closer to the viewing side than the polarizer. A total value of retardation values of the at least two sheets of oriented films is 3000 to 30000 nm. One of the at least two sheets of oriented films is a polarizer protective film laminated on a viewing side of the polarizer. One of the at least two sheets of oriented films is a scattering preventing film. |
