A method of operating a server for remotely monitoring personal activity of usage of an electrical appliance, such as a kettle or television, is disclosed. An electrical plug device is connected to the power connection of the electrical appliance to be monitored, and a message is sent to at least one user equipment UE, consisting of a mobile phone, a personal computer or tablet. The server receives a signal from the electrical plug device where the received signal is i) in accordance with an expected pattern of signals; ii) is not in accordance to an expected pattern of signals; or iii) the server does not receive a signal from the electrical plug device when a signal is expected in accordance with an expected pattern of signals. The pattern of signals is compared with an estimation by a computer algorithm, such as Markov model, based on historical data of the personal activity of the user, stored in memory on the server. |
