Provided are: an internal olefin sulfonate composition which is capable of sufficiently increasing foamability, foam disappearance without a slimy feeling when rinsing, and the feel when dried after washing; and a detergent composition containing the same. The internal olefin sulfonate composition contains (A) an internal olefin sulfonate having 16 carbon atoms, and (B) an internal olefin sulfonate having 12 carbon atoms. The content ratio (A/B) of component (A) and component (B) is 10/90-90/10.
