PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound, a composition and a method modulating the expression of growth hormone receptor and/or insulin like growth factor-I (IGF-I).SOLUTION: Disclosed are a method for using such compounds that comprise oligonucleotides targeting nucleic acids encoding a growth hormone receptor, and a diagnostic method and a diagnostic kit to diagnose and treat diseases associated with the expression of growth hormone receptor and/or insulin like growth factor-I. Such compounds modulate to animal and human equivalent therapeutic levels which are relevant to the treatment of diseases including acromegaly, gigantism, diabetes and diabetic retinopathy.
