The invention relates to a device and a method for filling pressure transmitters, said device for filling the pressure transmitter having at least the following: - a counter body onto which the pressure transmitter is attached for filling purposes; - a stop surface which is oriented towards the separating membrane when the pressure transmitter is attached onto the counter body and which is held by the counter body, the composite hydraulic chamber with the specified filling volume being fillable when the separating membrane is placed on the stop surface; - a sealing element which seals the region between the stop surface and the separating membrane of the pressure transmitter attached onto the counter body, and - an evacuating path which allows the region between the stop surface and the separating membrane of the pressure transmitter attached onto the counter body to be evacuated in order to improve the placement of the separating membrane on the stop surface.
