BACKUP ROLL AND ROLLING MILL

Provided is a backup roll of a rolling mill which supports a work roll with a relatively larger diameter of the central part than that of both side parts in an axial direction to reduce partial abrasion of the backup roll and have excellent bending control performance for the work roll with a convex central portion. The backup roll has the different diameter of a central contact part, which is in contact with the central part of the work roll in an axial direction, with the diameters of side contact parts arranged in positions corresponding to both side parts of the work roll.
