Forming a screen by feeding an elongate member around support bars

There is provided apparatus for the formation of a screen comprising support bars 4 and at least one elongate member located with and supported by said support bars to form the screen. The apparatus comprises a holder 24 to locate a plurality of the support bars at spaced intervals around a substantially circular path, a supply of the elongate member which is to be attached to the support bars, welding apparatus to allow the join of the elongate member to the support bars and feed means 32 to allow relative movement between the elongate member supply and the support bars so as to allow the progressive joining of the elongate member to the support bars to form the screen.
