PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle travel control device that can enhance both fuel economy and drivability during coasting of a vehicle on an upgrade road surface.SOLUTION: An upper limit value &thetas;n1 of an upgrade of a road surface R for starting neutral coasting is set higher than an upper limit value &thetas;f1 of an upgrade of the road surface R for starting free run coasting. Thus, in a place where an upgrade is relatively large and a coasting distance is short, since neutral coasting is executed and stop/restart of an engine 12 is not performed, decline in drivability of a vehicle is suppressed. In a place where an upgrade is relatively small and a coasting distance is long, since free run coasting is executed and supply of fuel to the engine 12 is stopped, fuel economy of the vehicle is obtained. Therefore, both fuel economy and drivability of the vehicle during upgrade coasting can be enhanced. |
