<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of reducing consumption power to a minimum and easily adding a hard disk drive.SOLUTION: A recording device 1 comprises a plurality of HDDs 50, a virtualization file server 10, a network interface unit 40, and a cache server 20. The virtualization file server 10 comprises file data acquisition means 14 for acquiring file data from the cache server 20 at the time the file data which is requested from a client Cl is stored in the cache server 20, and acquiring the file data from the HDD 50 which stores the file data at the time the data is not stored in the cache server 20. The network interface unit 40 comprises HDD control means 44 for, when an access to the file data is requested from the virtualization file server 10, switching ON the power of the connected HDD 50 and then switching OFF the power of the HDD 50 after the completion of the access.</p> |
