PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a program, which processes image data scanned by an image forming apparatus, to process image data inputted from any other device. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes: a mediation means for mediating transmission of an execution request of scan to an image forming apparatus, receiving scanned first image data from the image forming apparatus and transferring the first image data to a source of the execution request of scan; a processing means which causes the mediation means to mediate the transmission of the execution request of scan, waits for the transfer of the first image data from the mediation means and performs predetermined processing on the first image data transferred from the mediation means; an image input control means for receiving second image data from any other external device than the image forming apparatus; and an image transfer means for transferring the second image data to the processing means waiting for the transfer of the first image data from the mediation means.
