The method and the device are used for blow-molding containers (2). Preforms (1) made of a thermoplastic material are heated in the region of a heating section (24) and subsequently transferred to a blow-molding apparatus (25). The blow-molding apparatus is provided with at least one blow-molding station (3) for shaping the preforms (1) into the containers. The preforms are held along at least part of the transport path thereof by a carrying element. The carrying element (46) is held in the region of the heating section by a rotatably driven transport device (55) and adjusted in terms of the height thereof together with the transport device relative to a set-up surface (66) of the heating section.
