A resilient U-shaped clip 10, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), for securing a flexible guide rail 20, Fig. 3 (not shown), for the sliding window 21 of a vehicle, has a web 13 with outwardlydirected prongs 15, 16 and T-shaped limbs with inwardly-directed prongs 19, the prongs 15, 16 being cut back through the bend line between the adjacent limb and the web. A number of the clips 10 are attached at intervals along the back of the channel-sectioned rail 20, embracing the rail, and the rail and fasteners are then pressed, web first, into a more rigid metal channel 22 around the window opening so that the prongs 19 are forced into the sides of the guide rail and the prongs 15, 16 bite into the sides of the metal channel near its base. The flexible rail 20 comprises a channel-shaped stiffening member 23 covered with a plastics or rubber strip 24 and with a material 25 in the region of the window 21.</p> |
