PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fuel cell.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a fuel cell includes the steps of: fixedly attaching a reinforcement (131) having an aperture at the center part thereof to a proton-exchange membrane (100) and to an electrode (111) placed against one face of the membrane so that an inner edge of the fixed reinforcement, together with a periphery of the electrode, covers a projecting portion of the proton-exchange membrane; forming filigrees by a wet process in a gas diffusion layer (21), thereby forming a recessed parts at a periphery of the gas diffusion layer; and placing the gas diffusion layer so that the recessed part is perpendicular to the inner edge of the reinforcement.
