<p>Provided are a vehicle steering control device and vehicle steering control method capable of causing a clutch to move reliably from an engaged state to a disengaged state. An engagement release command is output to a clutch (6) when clutch engagement release conditions are satisfied while the clutch (6) is in an engaged state. In addition, during the interval from when the engagement release command is output to the clutch (6) until completion of the clutch (6) engagement release is detected, a turning motor (8) is driven and controlled in order to set the turning angle (thetar) of turning wheels (11R, 11L) to a fixed gear ratio turning command angle (a turning command angle when disengaged (thetar2)) so that the change gradient of the turning angle (thetar) is equal to or substantially equal to the change gradient of a steering angle (thetas).</p> |
