A method for controlling a remote controller and a multimedia device is disclosed. The method comprises a step of detecting at least one indicator from a video displayed on a multimedia device, a step of providing on screen display (OSD) graphic data corresponding to the detected indicator, a step of displaying the OSD graphic data and the video on the multimedia device, the OSD graphic data being displayed as a plurality of selectable regions, a step of receiving an input to select one of the plurality of selectable regions, and a step of transmitting, from the multimedia device to a remote controller, a command corresponding to the selected region of the OSD graphic data. |
