PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for estimating clearing performance of an on-vehicle defroster with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A method of estimating cleaning performance of an on-vehicle defroster by means of Numerical Fluid Analysis includes: setting a glass to be defrosted by the on-vehicle defroster and an outlet of the on-vehicle defroster in a space, as an analytic model, which simulates inside a cabin of a vehicle with the on-vehicle defroster installed therein (A20); uniformly generating dummy substances different in diffusion coefficient from air in the analytic model space (A30); introducing air containing no dummy substance from the outlet into the space where the dummy substances are uniformly distributed (A40); calculating concentration of the dummy substances diffused by inflow of the air on a surface of the glass (A50); and estimating clearing performance of the on-vehicle defroster on the basis of the concentration distribution of the dummy substances (A70, A80). |
