Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for accumulating points which enable a user to accumulate points about purchase without showing personal information or a point accumulation card to a seller after purchasing goods or service from the seller. The apparatus for accumulating points which accumulates points by being connected to a member store terminal and a client terminal through a communication network, includes: an accumulation code request receiving unit for receiving accumulation code request including transaction history information from the member store terminal; an accumulation code generation unit for generating an accumulation code and storing the accumulation code in a storing unit together with the transaction history information and transmitting the accumulation code to the member store terminal; an accumulation request receiving unit for receiving point accumulation request including client identification information and the accumulation code from the client terminal; and a point accumulating unit which extracts the transaction history information from the storing unit by using the accumulation code received from the accumulation request receiving unit, and calculates points by using the extracted transaction history information, and accumulates the calculated points to the storing unit by using the client identification information.
