Application of coating to surface

The coating is discharged at a coating chamber which opens towards the surface and the surface is moved relative to the chamber. The amount of coating is dosed in a dosing gap (28) formed between the surface and dosing device. The dosing device can swing constantly in the rolling gap in order to reduce the amount of coating which the dosing device passes with the surface while the surface leaves the chamber. The vibration or swinging of the dosing device reduces the thickness of the film passing through the rolling gap for a predetermined pressure on the dosing rolling gap.
