Provided are: an inhibitor of the attachment of a periodontal-disease-inducing bacterium onto the surfaces of teeth, which has an excellent effect of inhibiting the attachment of the periodontal-disease-inducing bacterium onto the surfaces of teeth; an oral biofilm formation inhibitor which has an excellent effect of inhibiting the attachment of the periodontal-disease-inducing bacterium onto the surfaces of teeth and can exhibit a high biofilm-sterilizing effect; and a composition for oral applications. An inhibitor of the attachment of a periodontal-disease-inducing bacterium onto the surfaces of teeth, which comprises (A) alginic acid propylene glycol ester; an oral biofilm formation inhibitor which comprises (A) alginic acid propylene glycol ester and (B) isopropylmethylphenol; and a composition for oral applications, which is characterized by comprising (A) alginic acid propylene glycol ester and (B) isopropylmethylphenol.
