METHOD OF ALTERING ANGULAR ORIENTATION AND STABILIZATION OF SPACECRAFT AND DEVICE THEREFOR

The invention relates to space technology, in particular, to control devices of spacecrafts and can be used in designing control systems of angular motion and stabilization of spacecrafts in space. A method for altering angular orientation and stabilization of a spacecraft is characterized in impacting on a conductive fluid being in a spherical body by a magnetic field. The fluid is in a spherical bed formed between an external spherical body and an inner spherical core. The electric field is then generated perpendicular to the magnetic field and the spacecraft is turned due to the fluid rotation in the spherical bed under the Ampere force. A device for altering angular orientation and stabilization of a spacecraft comprises a spherical body with conductive fluid and a magnetic system. A spherical core is mounted therein forming a spherical bed filled with conductive fluid. Electrodes are fixed in pairs and diametrically opposite generating an electrical field perpendicular to the magnetic field generated by a magnetic system. The invention provides to simplify a spacecraft turn according to the given direction.
