PURPOSE: A recombinant microorganism which produces kaurene, kauronic acid, or steviol and a method for producing kaurene, kauronic acid, or steviol using the same are provided to manipulate metabolic pathways by a recombinant gene in the microorganism, thereby obtaining a large amount of stevioside precursors such as kaurene, kauronic acid, or steviol. CONSTITUTION: A recombinant vector for preparing kaurene which is a stevioside precursor contains a gene encoding geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase (GGDPS), a gene encoding copalyl diphosphate synthase (CDPS), and a gene encoding kaurene synthase (KS). The gene encoding GGDPS is a nucleotide of sequence number 1, which is derived from Rhodobacter sphaeroides. A method for preparing kaurene comprises the steps of: culturing a recombinant microorganism which is transformed by the recombinant vector; and collecting kaurene from the culture liquid of the microorganisms. |
