[Class 52 (ii)] A seat adapted to be converted into a bed or berth comprises a movable frame b, a fixed support a, guides d, e on the support in which the seat frame b moves, and means such as worm and sector gearing m, for moving the seat frame in the guides, the arrangement being such that when the structure is to be used as a seat the front edge of the seat frame is raised relatively to the rear edge, and for use as a bed or berth the seat frame is moved forwardly while the rear edge remains at the same level and the front edge is lowered. The guides d, e may comprise plates with slots h, i, of appropriate form to ensure the desired movement in which engage pins f, g on the seat frame.
