PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device and an image forming apparatus capable of improving running stability of an endless belt.SOLUTION: An image heating device (9) comprises: a heating rotary body (101) for heating a toner image on a recording material; and a belt unit (34) having an endless belt (105) heated by being in contact with an outer surface of the heating rotary body and support mechanisms (103, 104) for rotatably supporting the endless belt. Further, the image heating device (9) comprises: detectors (128, 129, 131, 132, 136) for detecting that the endless belt has deviated from a predetermined zone in a width direction of the endless belt; and a rotation mechanism (51) for rotating the belt unit in a direction for making the endless belt return to the inside of the predetermined zone, according to the output of the detectors. Thus, running stability is improved in the endless belt. |
