The invention relates to an oil cleaning device of an engine oil circuit of an internal combustion engine in particular of a motor vehicle with a centrifuge (10) for removing particles from the oil. The centrifuge (10) comprises a centrifuge housing (12) which has at least one inlet (24) for the oil to be freed of particles and at least one outlet (46) for the oil freed of particles. The centrifuge housing (12) comprises a housing pot (14) which has a separable housing cap (16) and in which a rotor (22) is disposed so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation (20). In the installed state of the centrifuge (10) the housing cover (16) closes the housing pot (14) spatially at the bottom. The outlet (46) passes through a peripheral wall of the housing pot (14). The upper face (56) of the housing cap (16) is disposed on the radially outer edge (63) thereof approximately level with or above a lower boundary (64) of an outlet opening (66) of the outlet (46) in the radially inner peripheral face (60) of the peripheral wall of the housing pot (14).
